Wheeleez products are helping to save the sea turtles

The Wheeleez dolly 12 was designed to be a PWC dolly, which is a frame mounted onto wheels, used to transport a jet ski to and from a trailer, but is now affectionately known as the ‘Turtle Trolley’.

Beachwheels Australia has been in proud association with Turtles in Trouble Inc. and are really pleased that the dolly became the perfect transportation device.  It's the strong, simple to use Wheeleez polyurethane wheels which make for easy manoeuvring across sand and mud, even whilst under a heavy payload. This allows the volunteers to get the turtles to where they need to be as quickly as possible. The dolly has proven to be a valuable piece of equipment, getting the turtles across the sands and mudflats to turtle hospital for treatment and then back again for their release.

Turtle populations around the world have been declining. This is due to many different factors, including habitat loss, pollution and hunting. 6 out of the 7 species of turtle that exist are considered endangered. This is why it’s so important that Turtles in Trouble Rescue Inc. are able to successfully complete their work. They are a non-for-profit organisation, operating out of the Great Sandy Straits Marine Park on the Fraser Coast. So far, they’ve been able to successfully rescue and release several hundred turtles back into the wild, 52 just in the month of September 2022.

It's fantastic to see how much of a positive impact a product we offer has had, and it also shows the surprising versatility of the products.
